Vaccine approved!
So... I saw Bonnie Henry actually smile today! That was cool. And, a relief after watching her all year just reel out the numbers of people in trouble with this virus. She still gave us the numbers- 2000 over the weekend, more than six hundred today. However, things actually are changing and there may be an end to this Covid thing after all.. if not in three weeks, maybe three months, or six or nine..
I have been spending way too much time on my own. With all these regulations it hasn't been easy to not go visit the Kootenays, or visit the kids. If the roads don't get you, the guilt about not following the rules will. So, I stay home for the most part, but that gets old real fast. I try to get outside as much as I can and today I went for another hike.
I have been finding a few trails around here. Probably not a great time of the year to hike, but after that first snowfall, things have been pretty good. But, the trail was muddy and while heading up to the viewing area made me huff and puff, going down was a bit treacherous but I made it, and the little 20 minute hike energized me and so I decided to head to town to get a photo album for some of the photos that Jake had collected from Madeira Park for me.
I went to Walmart as they have just about everything, and just behind the Walmart Greeter was a table with a lady helping people apply for jobs. I just stopped to chat, as we do when we live on our own during a pandemic, but ended up filling in an application form. I was pretty honest, so not exactly sure they will call me for an interview.. but it would be great to have something to do. I have been trying to get my teaching credentials here again in BC.. but I tell you, they don't make it easy. Besides, working in a bit store like Walmart could be fun.
I painted some Christmas cards, may even mail a few out. I love that I have space to do that here at.. home.
I bought a turkey. Thought I better grab a small one while they have them in stock. I figure there will be a lot more people looking for smaller turkeys this year.
I did my stretches, took my vitamins, maybe twice today.. hmm
Ya.. I have been a bit bored and not being able to get out and about to see my family, as was the plan, I am going a little crazy. It is frustrating that I won't be spending Christmas with family, as was the plan, but may spend some time as a cashier, talkin to hundreds of people as they buy the things they need to spend Christmas away from whomever is in their family but not living at home. We can only do what we can do. It isn't like I want them to shut down the stores down!
But, like I said, Bonny Henry was smiling today. They approved the first vaccine here in Canada and we are getting a getting the first batch delivered, at -70 or so, in a few days. And when it is offered to me? Bloody rights I am climbing on board. I am taking that shot in the arm, no matter how painful it is. And when I do, well, hopefully I will be able to not only go see the kids, but do some serious entertaining here before heading to Mexico!
